Boys Varsity Baseball · Mike Pruitt Retires from Baseball ending a 30 year coaching career!

Head Baseball Coach Mike Pruitt has decided that after 30 years of coaching and 9 years as head coach at West it is time for him to step aside as a head coach. I want to take a minute and thank Mike for his years of service to high school baseball. Mike started his career at Forsyth Central in football and baseball and has made stops at Gainesville, Flowery Branch and West along the way.

Mike has done an outstanding job for us in 9 years and had elevated the program across the board from facility improvements to growing the numbers of kids in the program. On a personal note, Mike took over the baseball program the same year that I became AD and so I have never done a baseball season without Mike! Mike is still going to teach and is actually taking on our Head Flag Football job for this fall.

I know that for Mike this is the first step toward full retirement and a whole new phase of life in a few years. I am just glad I got to be a small part of his story and that we all got to work with him for the last 9 years in that role. Please join me in thanking and congratulating Mike on a job well done! He and his kids always represented this school and this program at a high level.

Thank you, Mike!
