Wrestling Coaching Staff

Evan Goff


Coach Goff, a 2000 graduate of Fitzgerald High School, was a tri-athlete who excelled in wrestling, baseball, and football. He was at 3x Region Champ and 2x State Placer. After graduation, Coach Goff attended Southern Polytechnic State University in Marietta on a baseball scholarship. In 2004, his senior season, Southern Poly won the Conference Championship; Evan was honored with the Offensive Player of the Year award with at .392 batting avg. Coach Goff holds a BS degree from Southern Poly (now Kennesaw State University) in Management and a MEd from the University of Georgia in Kinesiology. In just seven years as a head coach, Coach Goff has been a 4x Region Coach of the Year award winner and has led his team to three top five finishes at state.  The 2017-2018 season will be his first at West Forsyth High School.

Evan Burchette 

Coach Evan Burchette, a 2010 graduate of West Forsyth High School, was a multiple-sport athlete and a very successful wrestler. He finished his individual wrestling career as a 2x Region Champ and a State Runner-up his senior season.  Evan was co-team captain for a West wrestling program that earned multiple state placement finishes, including a runner-up finish in 2010. He began his college wrestling career in college at Marion Military Institute under Jim and Dave Hazewinkel.   Evan finished his career at Mercer University, where he was a 3x NCWA National Qualifier.  Under Coach Goff at Roswell High, Evan made his debut in coaching.   He has currently been officiating wrestling on the state and national level and the 2017-2018 season will be his first as a full-time coach at West Forsyth High School.

Wrestling Dual Meet Tournament moved to Tuesday (today) 1/10 @ Central @ 2:30 pm

West will go to Central Forsyth today at 2:30 for the Region 5, 7A Dual meet. The meet was originally scheduled for this past Saturday but was moved due to the weather. Top 2 Region teams will advance to the State Dual meet in Macon on Thursday and Friday.

Denver Stonecheck 2016 6A State Champion

Denver Stonecheck won the 138 lb weight class in 6A on Saturday, Feb 13th. Denver is just the third State Champion in school history. (Coach Allbritton, Coach Stromie, Denver and Coach Garner) Denver Stonecheck 42-5 4 Time Region Champion 2016 Sectional Champion 2016 State Champion

Denver Stonecheck Advances to State Championship

Congratulations to Denver Stonecheck a four time Region Champion for advancing to the finals. Denver will wrestle on Saturday: Feb 13 at the Gwinnett Arena. Opening ceremonies will start at 2:30 and Wrestling will start at 3:00. Would love to see a large crowd to support Denver in his attempt to become a State Champion!
