Wrestling Coaching Staff


egoff08@gmail.com20170313_122638 Coach Goff, a 2000 graduate of Fitzgerald High School, was a tri-athlete who excelled in wrestling, baseball, and football. He was at 3x Region Champ and 2x State Placer. After graduation, Coach Goff attended Southern Polytechnic State University in Marietta on a baseball scholarship. In 2004, his senior season, Southern Poly won the Conference Championship; Evan was honored with the Offensive Player of the Year award with at .392 batting avg. Coach Goff holds a BS degree from Southern Poly (now Kennesaw State University) in Management and a MEd from the University of Georgia in Kinesiology. In just seven years as a head coach, Coach Goff has been a 4x Region Coach of the Year award winner and has led his team to three top five finishes at state.  The 2017-2018 season will be his first at West Forsyth High School.




Chris Kiefer, former college athlete, who excelled in baseball and wrestling.  Coach Kiefer was also a three sport athlete in high school (California) where he was all Conference in football and baseball. He was a 2 time state placer for wrestling.  Kiefer attended Baker University on a baseball scholarship and was all Conference freshman year with an 11-1 record, as a pitcher. He was named freshman of the year.  Later, transferring to Southern Illinois University (Edwardsville), where he played baseball (2 yrs.) and wrestled (1 yr.).  Chris Kiefer’s extensive coaching career encompasses of wrestling, baseball, football, basketball, track, and lacrosse. Kiefer was most recently the Assistant Wrestling Coach at Pope High School (Cobb County). He assisted in taking the team to a two time Region championship and was named the GACA Region 5 AAAAAAA Assistant Coach of the year (2016) and Cobb County Assistant Coach of the year (2016). Chris was also on the coaching staff for the Girls JV and Varsity Lacrosse at Pope.  Kiefer brings experience as a Head Wrestling Coach from Duluth High School and Assistant Varsity Baseball Coach (Gwinnett County 2013-2015), Head Wrestling Coach at Banneker High School (Fulton County 2012-2013) and Assistant Varsity Wrestling Coach at North Gwinnett High School (Gwinnett County 2011-2012).  Prior to moving to Georgia, Chris was an Athletic Director at Rockdale Schools (Joliet, IL), Assistant Varsity Wrestling Coach Glenbard East High School  (Lombard IL) and Head Wrestling  and Soccer Coach at Ira Jones Middle School.Coach Kiefer holds a BS in Education and a Masters in Leadership & Administration. He has been a resident of Forsyth County since 2011, married and has 3 boys.
Chad Wright
Assistant Coach
 Coach Wright was a 4 time state qualifier and a one time state placer at Parkview High School during his wrestling days.
After graduating from Georgia Tech with an engineering degree, he joined Peachtree Ridge as community coach.  Coach Wright now has over 8 years of coaching experience at Peachtree Ridge, South Forsyth and West Forsyth.  During this time, he has coached 3 state champions and multiple state placers.
Coach Wright is married to his wife and Lauren and they have three children (Mary Thompson, Smith, and Shepard).

Mike Traxler

ASSISTANT COACH Coach Traxler is in his 3rd season on the West Forsyth staff after retiring from an Engineering job of 34 years in New York State. In NY, he coached Baseball and Soccer for local teams which included his own children. Coach Traxler has been active volunteering, helping such worthy causes as the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, the American Diabetes AssociationNational Multiple Sclerosis Society, the Boy Scouts of America, the Girl Scouts of the USA and he was the Race Director for a Bicycle Racing club in the Rochester, NY area. Coach Traxler had been on his company’s Medical Emergency Response Team (MERT) and is fully qualified in CPR as well as First Aid. Coach Traxler wrestled not only in High School but continued in college as well. He has been racing Bicycles for several years in NY and now Georgia obtaining top honors in the State Road Race Championships, the Georgia State Games and National level events too. He has 2 very successful children: Shauna, 27, an Engineer in NY and Kyle, 23, who has gone into Law Enforcement also back in NY. Coach Traxler looks forward to another exciting season with West Forsyth.

Mike Corcimiglia


Coach Mike relocated from Rochester, NY to Georgia (3) years ago.  Corcimiglia has assisted the West Forsyth Youth Wrestling Program for the past 3 years and is looking forward to working with the High School Team.  He has been exposed to many areas of wresting throughout his life.  Coach Corcimiglia wrestled through high school and Competed in Open/Masters NY State Tournaments for several decades.  He was also a New York State Section 5 Wrestling Official and was awarded by the Coaches as the Top Ranked Referee multiple times, and was a NY State Finals Tournament Official.  As his priorities changed, he retired from Officiating to become an assistant youth coach for (8) years in NY, while enjoying the time to bond with his two sons.  Coach Corcimiglia enjoys riding and racing his bicycle to stay in shape for wrestling season.  Coach Mike attended RIT and MCC in NY, and is a Director of Business Development for a contract manufacturing company.  He has been married for 18 years, with 4 children.

Cody Westray

Head Youth and Middle School Coach

Coach Westray was a  2012 graduate of West Forsyth  high school where he wrestled and played football. He finished his individual wrestling career as a 2x region champion,  East sectional champion, and 2x state placer.  Cody was co team-captain of the West wrestling team through both the 2011 and 2012 seasons, also taking part in West Forsyth team state placements for three straight years with a runner-up finish in 2010. After high school, Cody wrestled at Darton college and is now finishing up earning a degree in Physical Education from the University of North Georgia. He is also currently a wrestling coach at Morris Fitness, a program responsible for multiple state champions and placers as well as a middle school duals state championship last season.
