After starting the gymnastics team in 2010, Mrs. Owen came back to coaching in 2014 and is now in her fourth year with WFHS gymnastics. Mrs. Owen grew up in competitive gymnastics, ending her career as a level 8 optional, before earning a spot on her high school’s varsity competition cheerleading squad. Mrs. Owen has been passionate about the sport her entire life and has high hopes for the WFHS team to excel as one of the top GHSA programs in the state!

Coach Needham has been the head varsity competition cheerleading coach since 2011 and a part of the WFHS gymnastics team since 2013.

Coach Chris was a competitive gymnast for 6 years during middle and high school. He was a member of the national and 2 time state championship gymnastic teams while in high school in Ohio. He was an after-school instructor and an assistant coach for the girls’ competitive gymnastics team for Forsyth County Parks and Recreation for 2 years before joining the staff at Cumming Recreation and Parks Department in 2010.
Coach Chris became the boys’ program coordinator for CRPD in 2011. He is an instructor of tumbling, boys classes, boys pre-team. He is also the head coach of our boys’ competitive team. He is a USAG Professional member, USAG certified Men’s Artistic Gymnastics Junior Olympic Team Coach and a certified Instructor.
Coach Chris has also been a boys’ team coach at Flip Fest gymnastics camp.
